The temple conducts six daily worship rituals at different times, starting from 5:30 a.m. until 9 p.m., and celebrates twelve annual festivals throughout the year. Vaitheeswaran Koil is situated 7 kilometers away from Sirkazhi, 235 kilometers from Chennai, 27 kilometers from Chidambaram, 110 kilometers from Thanjavur, and 16 kilometers from Mayiladuthurai, which is also recognized for its palm leaf astrology, known as Naadi astrology in Tamil. The temple is dedicated to Angaraka (Mars), the fourth planet among the nine planets of the solar system. The principal deity of the temple is Lord Shiva, referred to as Vaitheeswaran, who is believed to have healing powers. Worshipping Vaitheeswaran, known as the ‘GOD OF MEDICINE,’ is said to alleviate all kinds of skin ailments. Mars plays a significant role in forming strong MARTIAL connections in everyone’s horoscope.
Mayuranatharswami Temple Mayiladuthurai

The Mayuranathar Swamy temple stands as the largest temple in Mayiladuthurai. The walls of this temple feature inscriptions that provide details about Kulothunga Cholan. This temple exemplifies the architectural brilliance of the Chola dynasty. Daksha, who was the father of Mother Parvathi, hosted a yagna but deliberately excluded Lord Shiva to insult Him. Lord Shiva wished for Parvathi to refrain from attending the yagna as well. Nevertheless, in an effort to reconcile with her father, Parvathi went to the event but faced humiliation from Daksha. In response, Lord Shiva transformed into Veerabadra and devastated the yagna.

Thirumanancheri temple

Thirumanancheri temple is a famous shrine where single men and women present garlands to the divine couple along with their prayers. Many believe that by praying in this temple, they will soon find their ideal partner. It is said that this will help remove any hindrances that are postponing their marriage. A trip to the Thirumanancheri temple signifies that anyone facing delays in marriage will soon meet their partner.

Suriyanar Koil Temple- Suriyan Temple - Sun Temple
This location is said to be where all nine planetary gods endured the affliction of leprosy due to Lord Brahma’s curse. Through their intense penance directed towards Lord Shiva (Prana Nathar) in Thirumangalakkudi, which is located close to Suryanar Kovil, all nine planetary deities recovered their former strength and happiness. Lord Shiva instructed them to reside in Suryanar Kovil and to bless the devotees who worship them. Among the nine planets, the Sun god is especially revered at Suryanar Kovil. You can access Suryanar Koil by traveling 15 kilometers from Kumbakonam. The temple is situated very close to Aduthurai, approximately 2-3 kilometers away. From Mayiladuthurai and Swamimalai, the distance to the temple is the same—21 kilometers.
Kanjanur Sukran Temple

The temple has existed for ages beyond memory. The main deity is a self-manifesting one, and the temple was built during the era of the Medieval Cholas. Over the centuries, various rulers have carried out renovations and expansions. Here, Lord Shiva is revered as the main deity in accordance with the Saivaite belief that Lord Shiva is omnipresent, and it is said that Lord Sukran is located within the belly of Lord Shiva. The temple’s significance is such that Lord Shiva once blessed Parasara Muni, a famous saint from ancient times, with His cosmic dance. This holy site is also referred to as Palasa Vanam or Agni Sthalam, and thus the main deity is known as Agneeswarar. It is believed that Lord Brahma observed the divine marriage of Lord Shiva at this sacred location.

This temple is situated in Thirukkadaiyur (Thirukkadavur), located 21 km east of Mayiladuthurai in Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is linked to the legend of Shiva rescuing his young devotee, Markendeya, from death, as well as the story of a saint named Abirami Pattar, who was a follower of the presiding goddess.

Thiruvenkadu Swethaaranyeshwarar Temple

The Thiruvenkadu Swetharanyeswarar temple is an extremely old temple where the main deity is known as Swetharanyeswarar, and His consort is referred to as Brahma Vidhyambigai.
